We're doing an addition to the school that includes an air handler in a dormer with a gable end. The intake vent is in the gable end and is taking in snow through the louvers. It seems that the wind off the dormer is swirling around the vent and causing the snow to come in. Anybody have any suggestions as how to eliminate the incoming snow?

Ron,
About the only suggestion I could make to you would to be checking into a sheetmetal hood that could be fabricated and installed over the louver. If it sized correctly I wouldn't think this would interfere with amount of cfs that is required for fresh air.
